To better serve our local residents, the Village of Ashville has
hired Patricia S. Cavinee as their Tax Administrator.
She is available to answer questions about your tax liability, help
you make arrangements to become compliant, or to help you prepare your
return. Her office is at the
Ashville Municipal Building, 200 East Station Street. Her office hours
are Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, 9AM to 4:00PM, and on Monday evenings
from 6-9PM by
appointment only. She can be reached at 740-983-6367.
The Village of Ashville has a one-half (0.5%) percent income tax
effective on and after 06/01/99 on all earned personal income. The
half-percent tax also applies to business net
profit derived by any individual or business, resident or non-resident,
within the Village limits of Ashville. Each taxpayer shall, whether or not a tax is due thereon, make and file a return on or before April 15th of each year. Any person whose income tax is not fully withheld must file a declaration and pay quarterly payments to RITA. A penalty and interest will be assessed at the end of the tax year if you do not file and pay quarterly. If you have employees, this tax must be deducted from their gross wages and sent to RITA monthly. The employer will be assessed a penalty if monthly withholding payments are not paid. |
